A Christmas Band Sampler - Erica Michaels

From the Designer:  Inspired by a 1740 sampler from my collection which is stitched in red and green, it reminds me so much of the holidays. It also has significant portions worked using the double-running' or Holbein stitch which we generally associate with blackwork techniques. I've adapted the original to feature the gifts from the 12 Days of Christmas - still lots of blackwork' stitching, plus cross stitches, eyelets, and a bit of four-sided stitching.

Pattern is stitched on 37 count Russian Tea Cake linen from Access Commodities using Gloriana Threads with DMC and Weeks Dye Works conversions. Stitch counts are 125 x 225 (Sampler) and 127 x 72 (Berry). Finished size is 6.76" x 12.16" (Sampler) and 6.86" x 3.89" (Berry).
